Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is an internationally recognized green building certification system, providing third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts. Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. Art Hirsch is a LEED Accredited Professional for New Construction and a member of the USGBC-Colorado Chapter.
TerraLogic uses the LEED framework and strategies in developing sustainable actions for transportation system planning, design, construction and maintenance. TerraLogic recognizes and integrates the following area whole system approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in key areas: sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, air quality, community context, awareness and education and design innovation. This innovative approach is key in supporting Federal Highway Administration, State Departments of Transportation, municipalities and private investors in developing sustainable transportation systems for future generations.

We concur that the assistance provided by technical expert like those found in Mr. Hirsch is invaluable towards improving the condition of the watershed. While the resources are available do not enable a full-time commitment, CDOT will remain involved with this Study Group and will invest the resources where it is able to, towards the goals of the Study Group.
We very much appreciate your concerns, and look forward to a continued, positive relationship as we collectively address the issues affecting Black Gore Creek.
